The Conservatory of music offers private lessons spanning guitar, bass, strings, brass, piano, and drums. Lessons are $14.00 per half hour. They are expected to be paid a month in advanced unless other arrangements are made with the instructor. Most lessons are scheduled for a half hour every week. The drum instructors are an exception and they schedule their lessons hourly for $28.00 per hour.
All of our teachers are flexible and can start students from the very beginning or can find the student's current level and help them to advance.
Why Schedule Private Lessons?
Band and orchestra directors do not always have time to instruct students individually. Most of their time is used for full ensemble instruction. If a student is struggling with the instrument, it may cause him or her to feel discouraged to the point of dropping out of band or orchestra. Music lessons are a great solution to this problem! With lessons, students receive the one-on-one attention they need. The teacher is there just for them.
Is it really worth the extra money?
You have already made an investment in getting your child's instrument. Why spend more money for lessons? Lessons will help you get your money's worth out of the instrument. Your child will learn how to properly care for and maintain the instrument which will save you repair or replacement costs. Each week your child will receive individual reinforcement and assignments to work on at home. Ideally, they will be playing the instrument ever day, making your investment well worth it! Most importantly, IT'S FUN!!!
